Tornado Strikes Menominee County and Campground
A confirmed EF-1 tornado recently struck Menominee and Oconto Counties in Wisconsin. The tornado originated north of Keshena along Highway 55, passing through the Legend Lake area before dissipating east of Berry Lake. The National Weather Service reported that the tornado had a path length of 9 miles, a width of 90 yards, and wind speeds between 95-100 mph.
The storm caused significant damage, particularly at Krueger’s Campground near Gillett, where multiple campers were overturned. Chris and her husband, who were visiting from Florida and staying in a camper, experienced the storm firsthand and described the ordeal as terrifying. Around Berry Lake, numerous trees were uprooted, and a residence on the north shore sustained damage.
