Pure Energy Holdings Corp. Ventures into Digital Agriculture with AI-Driven Indoor Farms
MANILA, Philippines — Pure Energy Holdings Corp. (PEHC), led by Dexter Tiu, is expanding into digital agriculture by using artificial intelligence (AI) for climate-controlled indoor farming. PEHC President Eric Peter Roxas announced that these innovative farms will cultivate niche crops like strawberries and dou miao (pea shoots), avoiding lower-margin vegetables like lettuces and local tomatoes.
PEHC plans to construct a pilot indoor farm next quarter, sourcing continuous electricity from its subsidiaries’ solar, hydropower, and wind power facilities located across several provinces. Indoor farms will operate 24/7, producing high-quality, pesticide-free crops irrespective of external weather conditions.
This initiative aligns with Dexter Tiu’s longstanding interest in agriculture, influenced by his grandmother. Currently, PEHC also grows specialty fruits and nuts in traditional farms in Tagaytay and Quezon.
The new indoor farms aim to mitigate climate change impacts on agriculture, leveraging PEHC’s renewable energy capabilities to ensure sustainable and efficient food production year-round.
