Comments on Project 2025 from Trump Allies Resurface
In a recent development, comments from allies of Donald Trump about Project 2025 have resurfaced, despite the former president’s denial of any connection to the initiative. Project 2025, created by the conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, aims to install Republican loyalists at various levels of federal government if Trump is reelected. The comprehensive 900-page document, with contributions from over 30 authors and 50 conservative groups, seeks to reverse policies from the current administration within the first six months of a potential second Trump term.
Although Trump publicly distanced himself from the project, stating on Truth Social that he has no knowledge of it and disagrees with some of its proposals, his allies’ previous comments suggest otherwise. Kevin Roberts, President of The Heritage Foundation, attributed the creation of Project 2025 to Trump, emphasizing its goal to recruit 20,000 individuals for the next administration. Other Trump associates, such as Russell Vought and Paul Dans, are also involved in the project.
Critics argue that Project 2025 could undermine democracy and social welfare, while supporters believe it is essential to streamline the federal government and cut spending. Newsweek has reached out to a Trump representative for further comments on the matter.
