California Heatwave Shatters Historical Records
California is experiencing unprecedented heat, with several cities tying or breaking their all-time temperature records. Idyllwild reached 104 degrees, matching its hottest temperature ever. Palmdale hit 110 degrees on July 4, tying a record set in 1973. Palm Springs broke its previous record by reaching 125 degrees. Death Valley, which also hit 124 degrees, is forecasted to potentially surpass its all-time high of 134 degrees, the hottest temperature ever recorded on Earth. Las Vegas is also on the verge of breaking its record, with temperatures possibly exceeding 117 degrees. Extreme heat is expected to continue through the weekend.
