Rice Carbon Neutrality Project Launched in Southeast Asia
LOS BAÑOS, Laguna — The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) have initiated a new project aimed at achieving carbon neutrality in rice farming across Southeast Asia. The project, named "Development of Rice Cropping Systems Toward Carbon Neutrality and Food Security in Asean Countries," forms a significant part of the Asean-CGIAR Innovate for Food Regional Program, which focuses on sustainable agricultural practices within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).
