Christian Services Prepares for Hurricane Season with Food Drive and Volunteer Call
Christian Services in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, is urgently preparing for hurricane season by stocking up on food for their Meals on Wheels program and food boxes. They are in desperate need of canned meats, vegetables, peanut butter, and nonperishable pop-top items like ravioli and soups. The organization, which serves 800 to 1,000 meals daily, is also seeking volunteers to help pack and deliver food boxes. Executive Director Maggie West emphasized the importance of being prepared for an anticipated high storm season to ensure they can continue to provide ready-to-go meals, even in the event of power outages. Donations can be made in person Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or through monetary contributions.
